Your Ideas On What to Do Regarding The Captioning Issue!
Please submit ideas on here for what you think we all should do to make Netflix, Blockbuster Online, and the mass media to caption everything. Many of us already sent comments to the FCC.
My ideas are:
- Send a letter to every major metro newspaper in the country
- Twenty-four hour boycott of television
- Enlist Hollywood insiders for assistance (Jean Boutcher’s idea)
So I would like your opinions on what other things we should consider, and let’s prioritize them.
Leave a comment and have at it!
Thanks for what you do.

I am in despair with Netflix. I am deaf and must have cc.
My husband and I are reduced to watching decades-old
foreign movies to get the subtitled I need. I have 50+ new
films in my save column but they appear slowly with long
waits. I have contacted Netflix about this and have met
with indifference. Can the government disability commision
get involved? Obviously Netflix is going to have to undergo
some pressure in order to conform to our needs.
Delores, you can contact COAT - Coalition of Organizations for Accessible Technologies. They can help you with Netflix.

I am sure your state deaf commission can help with this, absolutely. NAD is also working on this, I believe.
